Frequently Asked Questions
Technical + Strategic Design is my way of saying I can give you the whole package - someone who can make a deliverable (like a report) look visually appealing, easy to read, and cohesive, AND handle the data/information side as well. I can help showcase your data through data visualization or even simply charts or tables. Because of my background in public health, I am equipped to help you decide which type of chart is appropriate or will have the maximum impact, and even to create the chart for you. My Technical + Strategic Design services are customized based on the needs of each project. Please contact me to chat more about your needs!
You have a nonprofit and need to deliver an annual report to your funders. In this case, you need both design/formatting as well as assistance with the presentation of data, narrative, and photography.
You need to track KPIs, goals and objectives, or other aspects of a strategic plan. I can help you by making a tracker in Excel (or Google Sheets) and timelining out all of your items. I would deliver an Excel workbook that is easy for your team to fill out throughout the life of the plan to make sure that you stay on track toward your goals and/or KPIs.
If you want my help with a grant proposal. In that case, I can be your partner in the application process. I can help review the RFP/RFA, help determine what information you need, prepare your data, and design and format the document. I would not help with the actual submission process, and I cannot guarantee that you receive the award. But I can help you put your best foot forward!
I will never judge your resume! I love a good makeover. The messier, the better. In fact, it doesn’t even need to be formatted as a resume for us to get started. You will feel so much more confident applying for jobs when you see how I can transform a hot mess of a resume into a polished, professional document.
Yes. This will fall under resume packages #1 or #2 depending on length. Additional pages past 2 are priced at $100/page.
This varies by service. For resumes I will deliver a PDF, and you have the option of Canva or a PDF. The ATS resume will be in Word. For a cover letter template, I can adapt it to multiple formats. For design work and logos, please see the list of graphic design services for more details.
Any! I have worked with clients where they typed up their experience into a Google Doc and I used it to create their resume. Your content does not need to be already in a resume format for me to work with it. As long as you have all the information typed up for me, we are good to go.
Yes. This will fall under resume package #2 with additional pages priced at $100/page. You will need to provide me with the guidelines for the style for your publication citations (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.).
Yes and no. For the ATS resume that I offer, I will create your resume in Word. But I do not "design" your resume in Word as I will for the PDF version. My resume offerings can be paired together, so you can get a PDF, "designed" resume for networking, and an ATS resume for submitting to online application systems where your information will be parsed by software.
When in doubt, contact me we can discuss your needs.
No, unfortunately no one can guarantee that! My work has helped people land interviews and get jobs, but it is absolutely not a guarantee.
No, I am not a career coach, resume writer, or any other sort of advisor in that capacity. I do have a lot of experience hiring, reviewing resumes, and interviewing candidates. However, if you are in my former fields (public health, nutrition, etc., as detailed on the About page), I can provide you with technical assistance on your resume for a separate fee. This would combine design work with my professional expertise in these specific fields to design a resume that uses industry-specific jargon and terminology. That said, please remember that I cannot provide you career advice or guarantee a job.
I do not have a standard timeline because I am a one-woman shop. I will discuss the project with you and determine an appropriate timeline for our meeting schedule (if needed) and target date for completion based on how long the work will take and what other projects I have on my schedule. For this reason, it is best if you reach out well in advance of when you need the project completed. Note that resumes generally have the shortest turnaround time of all the work I offer.
I can design your materials around the specs that your print shop requires (safe area, bleed area, etc.). Many online printing services offer templates, and I can use those if you know what printer you will be using. If you are using my services as a subcontractor/vendor and we have a signed contract, that may include my ordering your print materials and invoicing you.
